We had an overwhelming response to the course announcement. Given that we have limited seating capacity in the lecture hall, we regret to inform you that we may not be able to accept any more applications / requests for the course on Mapping Essentials to be held during 9-10 August 2012.
However, Gubbi Labs will be again offering this course in about 2 months from now and we shall keep you informed of the same. We sincerely hope that you will be able apply and make it then.
Update 9th July 2012: Further to our recent announcement of the short-course on 'Mapping Essentials', Gubbi Labs is pleased to update you on some key turn of events that has taken place in the last few days since announcing this course. We are making a revised announcement to this course with a few changes.
We are happy to inform you that the course is now jointly offered by Gubbi Labs and the National Institute for Advanced Studies (NIAS) at IISc campus. There is no other major changes to the course and its content. However, we have revised dates for the course now. We regret any inconvenience caused in ths regard to potential participants.

Mapping Essentials is an intense 2-day program for students and professionals alike jointly offered by
Gubbi Labs and the
National Institute of Advanced Studies (NIAS) at IISc Campus, Bangalore. This program aims to equip the participants with essentials of mapping, offering insights and hands-on exposure to working with various free-and-open-source mapping applications. The program equip learners to appreciate the key concepts, enabling them to quickly learn, test and apply the techniques in their respective domains and eventually be able to produce maps for their own needs.
